1. Choose a Quiet Room

Find a space where you won't be distracted. Silence your phone, close extra tabs, and let family members know you’re doing a full practice test.

2. Use a Laptop or Tablet (Just Like the Real Test)

The SAT is now fully digital. Practicing on a computer or tablet helps you get comfortable navigating passages, scrolling, and selecting answers.

3. Set a Single Timer for Each Module

Use the official timing for each module:

  • Reading & Writing – Module 2 — 32 minutes
  • Math – Module 1 — 35 minutes
  • Math – Module 2 — 35 minutes
  • Take the SAT Simulator

Use a phone, kitchen timer, or online countdown—just make sure you don’t pause it.

4. Follow the Order of the Real Test

  1. Reading & Writing – Module 1 → 32 minutes
  2. Reading & Writing – Module 2 → 32 minutes
  3. Break: 10 minutes
  4. Math – Module 1 → 35 minutes
  5. Math – Module 2 → 35 minutes

5. Do Not Pause or Reset the Timer

The goal is to build endurance and test-day discipline. If you run out of time, leave remaining questions blank—that’s how the real test works.

6. Use Only Approved SAT Tools

  • College Board–approved calculator (for math modules)
  • Scratch paper (3–5 sheets)
  • Pencil or pen

7. Score Your Test Honestly

After finishing, score your answers right away. Then analyze every single mistake—this is where real improvement happens.
